Purdah rules but its the Kings Coronation, who do you call ? - Rotary

Surrey Heath Borough Council made available a small grants scheme up to £250 to support community-led Coronation events on 7 May 2023. However the grants were available during this year's Local Elections when such activities have to be suspended to avoid any possibility of undue influnce. It's known as a period of Purdah. So to avoid losing the grants Camberley Rotary Club was asked to step in as an independent and trusted organisation to adminster the grants. A strict criteria for awarding the grants was established and the club was delighted to be able to award 25 applicants with funds to support their Street parties on the 7th May. In total almost £6000 was awarded !
