In response to the growing need to support people with dementia and their carers a new dementia cafe has been established.

The project has been led by Jenny Thornton, President of the Camberley Club. Jenny's commitment to supporting those with Dementia is boundless, and she has now become the Surrey-wide Dementia champion and is instrumental in establishing a further 5 cafes in the North West of Surrey County.

Rotary was one of the supporting partners. The care specialist Right at Home is the principal player in the initiative.

The Frimley cafe is based in St Peter's Church, Frimley, and is open on the last Friday of every month.

Camberley's Inner Wheel has been delighted with the new cafe and, to assist the social interactions of each session, has supplied nine Relish puzzles for the local dementia cafes; they have proved to be great icebreakers.

Members of the club also visited the cafe despite ill health and operations themselves, and chatted to the guests. The hall was packed, and the spirit really lifted with the glorious sunlight coming through the stained glass windows.
